And yet you can't figure out why I'm posting these.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm....

Perhaps instead of continuing to post images you could actually explain why you're posting these?

Batman grew up with my father. He's a nice guy, layoff.

You're right. Your father is a nice guy. I'll try to be more circumspect in the future.

And who is this "Layoff" person you are addressing?

No. That's why I'm making fun of them!

Moreover, insinuations regarding a possiblly homosexual/pedophillic relationship between Batman and Robin go back at least as far as the publication of the infamous "Seduction of the Innocent" by psychologist Frederick Wertham in the 1950s. Wertham's contention was that images of a grown man and a young boy co-habitating in an intimate relationship would give Batman's young male readers "ideas." It was silly, of course, but as you can see it is possible to read this stuff into the early Batman comics. That's it. That's the joke. For years, me and my friends (including HWright who posts here) have been making jokes about Batman, Robin, and the Man/Boy Love Association. It's a joke. But I guess if I have to explain the joke, it's really not funny.

Maybe part of the reaction here is it's a very old joke. At least very old in internet time.
