connoisseur series500 Posted September 15, 2010 Author Report Posted September 15, 2010 Thanks to Vajjy for bringing me back to this forum by initiating the 2010 NFL football pool. Looks like it has brought SS1 back as well, which is great since it was his idea years ago to start a pool. Nice win by KC, Mr. Freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Quote

vajerzy Posted September 17, 2010 Report Posted September 17, 2010 Thanks Conn!!! I'm going to be a suffering Eagles fan this year.....we already have a QB controversy and it's not even the second game...... NE always does well- Brady is back! My brother is a die-hard Chiefs fan and he's excited for this year! Quote

Tim McG Posted September 19, 2010 Report Posted September 19, 2010 I hate first weeks; the results only give clues. For example, are the 49ers that much worse than I thought, or are the Seahawks that much better? Hard to tell with just the one game. Nah. Alex Smith is just that bad. Niners aren't going anywhere with him as their QB. Quote
BruceW Posted September 19, 2010 Report Posted September 19, 2010 WOW did anybody just see that one handed catch by Randy Moss, on the run, for a touchdown?? BruceW WowI guess Randy Moss just made Reivis or what's his name shut his mouth. Man, that catch made me jump up and scream. It makes watching Sunday NFL football worth while because we get to see the replays and slow motion in addition. Wow man, wow BruceW p.s. I knew there was a reason why I was still breathing air in the morning when I wake up. WOW :bwallace2: Quote
Aggie87 Posted September 20, 2010 Report Posted September 20, 2010 Go Bears! They went alright! Cowboys are 0-2, need to do something to get fired up and start playing ball. Quote
BruceW Posted September 20, 2010 Report Posted September 20, 2010 Randy Moss great catch but New England goes down in flames. Quote
Shawn Posted September 20, 2010 Report Posted September 20, 2010 Interesting tidbit learned during tonight's telecast: The Dallas Cowboys salary cap is almost equal to the Kansas City Chiefs & Tampa Bay Bucs combined! Dallas and all that star power are 0-2. The Chiefs & Bucs are 2-0. The math favors them. Quote
papsrus Posted September 20, 2010 Report Posted September 20, 2010 From what I saw in the highlights, the Dallas secondary is not very good at all. Eagles should stay with Vick for now. Seems like a no-brainer. Sanchez really impressed today for the Jets. Nice to see Gradkowski do well for Oakland. Favre: three picks and a fumble. That was the only game I really saw much of today. Miami was more physical on both sides of the ball. Surprising. Quote
Jazzmoose Posted September 20, 2010 Report Posted September 20, 2010 Yeah, I think I'll quietly step off of the Favre bandwagon at this point. Quote
Free For All Posted September 20, 2010 Report Posted September 20, 2010 Favre: three picks and a fumble. Which was too bad because Adrian Peterson was playing his ass off. Quote
Aggie87 Posted September 20, 2010 Report Posted September 20, 2010 Nice to see Gradkowski do well for Oakland. I missed this - did he outplay Jason Campbell in the preseason, or did Campbell get hurt or something? Quote

papsrus Posted September 20, 2010 Report Posted September 20, 2010 Yeah, I think I'll quietly step off of the Favre bandwagon at this point. I guess Favre said something after the game to the effect that, 'we're not meshing as quickly as last year's squad.' Naturally, the reaction to that sort of comment is: Maybe training camp would have helped? Without Rice, the receiving corps is not what it was. They get the Lions next Sunday. If they drop that game, the Viking ship will officially have run aground. Quote
papsrus Posted September 20, 2010 Report Posted September 20, 2010 Tampa Bay, Kansas City, Da Bears, Packers, Dolphins, Texans and Steelers (with their 4th-string QB) are all 2-0. Vikings and Cowboys are there with the likes of Cleveland and Detroit at 0-2, with the 49ers in real danger of joining that group tonight. Quote

Detroit has been playing their asses off, even at 0-2, they still impress me more than the Cowboys or Vikings. That opening group of teams that are 2-0, they play together, they LOOK like football teams. The 'Boys are a collection of overpaid star power with no focus. Quote

You're right, which makes next Sunday real interesting for the Vikes. If they lose that one to the Lions and find themselves sitting at 0-3 with a bye week the following week ... yeesh. I think a whole lot of folks would love to see the Jerryworld Cowboys go down. The Texans, otoh, look like they'll be a fun team to watch, and could make some real noise in that division. But seems that the Colts showed that they're not quite ready to fade away just yet. Quote
catesta Posted September 20, 2010 Report Posted September 20, 2010 It was tough watching the Jets last week, but yesterday..... Quote
Tim McG Posted September 21, 2010 Report Posted September 21, 2010 (edited) Go Niners!!! Edited September 21, 2010 by GoodSpeak Quote
Free For All Posted September 21, 2010 Report Posted September 21, 2010 (edited) Great game between the Saints and Niners. If SF didn't have all those turnovers in the red zone it likely would have been a different outcome. Alex Smith looked great on SF's drive to tie the score. And Brees' subsequent drive was equally impressive. That was about the ugliest field goal I've ever seen. But- yeah Saints! Two and eaux! Edited September 21, 2010 by Free For All Quote
