The Magnificent Goldberg Posted September 22, 2006 Report Posted September 22, 2006 Shit that made me homesick! MG Quote
Spontooneous Posted September 22, 2006 Report Posted September 22, 2006 (edited) I get so tired of hearing how modern jazz left the dancers behind. It's always painted as the music's fault. Nobody ever spins it around and says "Why were the dancers too lazy to keep up?" Dammit, let's dance! Edited September 22, 2006 by Spontooneous Quote
danasgoodstuff Posted September 22, 2006 Report Posted September 22, 2006 Well, I clicked and there's music that's perfectly dancable and there's people dancin' but it don't really look to me like the're actually dancin' to that particular music, or is the sync just a little off... Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted September 22, 2006 Report Posted September 22, 2006 Bad editing. With better editing I could look like a lost Nicholas Brother. Quote

medjuck Posted September 23, 2006 Report Posted September 23, 2006 Ever see Savon Glover (sp?)? He dances to Bird and Coltrane. Quote
JSngry Posted September 23, 2006 Author Report Posted September 23, 2006 Ever see Savon Glover (sp?)? He dances to Bird and Coltrane. I think it's "Savion". He used to pop up on Sesame Street back when my kids watched it. Bird & Trane, eh? Sounds cool! Know of any footage? Quote
medjuck Posted September 23, 2006 Report Posted September 23, 2006 Don't know of any footage. I saw him with a jazz combo which he led with his feet. Not just exchanging fours (though he did do that) but really pushing them. At one point I was sure that he he was beating out Bird's "My Little Suede Shoes" but the rest of the band didn't pick up on it. He's returning to Santa Barbara this year but (unfortunately for me) dancing to classical music this time. Quote
