bluenoter Posted August 14, 2003 Report Posted August 14, 2003 Hi. In My Controls, Board Settings, I checked "yes" for "Do you wish to hide your session id in the links?" But that isn't doing what I want, which is to not have my screenname show up at the bottom of the board when I'm on the board but to simply be tallied as an "anonymous member." I'd appreciate help. Ed S Posted August 14, 2003 Report Posted August 14, 2003 Log out. Then log back in again. It should give you the option to be anonymous when you log back in. Quote
Ed S Posted August 14, 2003 Report Posted August 14, 2003 Just did it. That's how it's done. There's an options box just below your login info that when checked will not add your name to the active posters list. Quote
Dan Gould Posted August 14, 2003 Report Posted August 14, 2003 (edited) What, y'all have something to hide or what? (Pay no attention to the fact that this was posted while the thread had an anonymous member present) Edited August 14, 2003 by Dan Gould Quote
bluenoter Posted August 14, 2003 Author Report Posted August 14, 2003 What, y'all have something to hide or what? I do the same thing on all the boards that I visit. The only thing I have to hide is the ridiculous amount of time I spend on the boards! Thanks, Ed! I'll log out and log in again. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted August 14, 2003 Report Posted August 14, 2003 Try to hide all you want. I can see you!!! Mwa ha ha ha ha!!! Quote
David Williams Posted August 14, 2003 Report Posted August 14, 2003 (edited) What, y'all have something to hide or what? Don't want to be seen lurking on the Mnytime thread perhaps. I'm on my way over there now, to catch the latest. Edited August 14, 2003 by David Williams Quote
Ed S Posted August 15, 2003 Report Posted August 15, 2003 You're most welcome bluenoter. For the record, I'm always logged in anonymously. Makes it easier to swoop in in stealth-like fashion and interject poignant commentary and/or inject wit and humor and then be gone before one can post - "where the hell did he come from". Now if I only had some poignant commentary and wit - or a sense of humor I'd be the whole package. Quote

moneyp Posted August 15, 2003 Report Posted August 15, 2003 Nothing like a sadistic board administrator. At least you're used to them. Quote

The only thing I have to hide is the ridiculous amount of time I spend on the boards! Good lord...I hope no one thinks I'm here as often as my name appears; I just forget to log off most of the time. If that was a real indication, I'd be spending 24 hours a day on (at least) two different jazz boards most days... Quote

I almost wrote "another sadistic board administrator," but I didn't want anyone to think I meant Lois, and I didn't want to diss you sort of behind your back. Quote
