Paquito d' Rivera - Tico Tico

This album dates from the late 1980s, but it still sounds fresh and lively. It was Paquito's first album for Chesky. Paquito d'Rivera wants to show the roots of South American music and the album has some great tracks like the title song Tico Tico and the small Venezuelan tunes with Tiberio Nascimiento on guitar.

Keep swinging

I was listening to that Columbia Montreux record just yesterday.

I never even knew the 1981 recording existed!  No CD reissue.  Well aware of the 1976 Columbia Montreux sets, which I enjoy a lot more than I probably "should".
