Van Basten II Posted April 22, 2007 Report Posted April 22, 2007 (edited) Seriously how the heck do you do that. i know that on the reply page we have a place where it says insert image but when i press it i have a message telling me to insert the Url. Where am i supposed to enter it. Once again i remind you that you are talking to a guy who learned computer stuff with a computer that worked with a tape deck, we hade a thing called PET and then a Vic 20, so don't ask me too much and be simple in your explanations. jazzbo Posted April 22, 2007 Report Posted April 22, 2007 You should paste in the url right there where it asks you, if I think the window you get is what I think it is. . . . In the "Add Reply" window there's that image of a picture, select that, a window pops up with a place to past the url, paste it, and when the post is launched you should have an image. Or. . . in the body of the post type This is the way to manually do it with code. Quote
Jim Alfredson Posted April 22, 2007 Report Posted April 22, 2007 If the image is on your desktop and is not already on a website, then you either have to put it up on a website (a free image server like photobucket.com) and then use that link or you can post it as an attachment. Quote
mikelz777 Posted April 22, 2007 Report Posted April 22, 2007 -Find the image you would like. -right click on the image -select "properties" from the menu selections that pop up by left clicking on it -the URL address should be listed among the properties. -highlight the URL address, right click on it and copy it -go to where you compose your post -click on the icon image of the little tree -when I do it, it tells me that I must enter an URL. A bar appears on the top of my window which says, "This website is using scripted windows to ask you for directions. If you trust this website, click here to allow scripted windows." I click on it and then click on the option which allows me to temporarily allow scripted windows. -click on the small tree icon again and a window pops up which asks you to enter the URL address. -paste the URL address in the window (make sure the "http://" portion of the address isn't repeated) and click on "OK" -the image information should then appear in the post and you can then start writing any comments if you wish. The image should appear when you choose to preview the post. Quote

Christiern Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 Is the original also a postage stamp? Don't mean to make fun of your diminutive one, Allen, but Photobucket is like Viagra for pixels, it will allow you to post man size photos Quote

MG I think if you are on the imageshack website, and you click on the picture, it will expand to full size (?). Once you have a large picture, right click on it, and it will give you the URL link that you can paste here for a larger picture. The URL should look something like this - http://img257.imageshack.us/img257/107/now...ds2bcopyhy9.jpg Once u paste that, a full image will appear - though this website itself seems to reduce them, but at least tells you it's done that. Christiern Posted April 3, 2008 Report Posted April 3, 2008 (edited) Photobucket.com is better. It also puts the codes in the proper place. I now have close to 500 images parked at photobucket and they haven't asked for money, but there is--for a slight fee--a "pro" status that gives you more options. Photobucket also lets freeloaders like me perform such edit functions as re-sizing, cropping, flipping, etc. The only thing I don't like re the bucket is that they don't recognize tiff files--no big thing, really, I just re-save them as jpg files.
