I remember The Beer Hunter TV show. Can't say that I remember him fondly, but he contributed to his own niche in the world, and so we are the less for his passing.

I gave up drinking beer (oddly enough) before I began brewing it (1978), but I always appreciated Mr. Jackson's (1) insights and (2) advocacy. Without people like him, there'd be a lot more swill in the world. And the wine snobs would be even MORE disparaging.

He used to do an all day beer tasting event here every year. One of my biggest regrets is that I never made it to one.
