Thanks, alocispepraluger102. My spiritual home, so to speak!

And my physical home! Nice photos, Bev. Glad you got some good weather - its p***ing down today.

Lanhydrock is one of the more interesting estates.

I am jealous...though if things go to plan, I'll be down there for good in 5 or 6 years! Did very well weather-wise 6/11 days of sun with just overcast/sea mist on the other days. Much better than last year.

Yes, Lanhydrock was splendid. Didn't go inside (once you've seen one piece of porcelain...) but loved the grounds and did a nice walk to Restormel Castle (despite the poor signposting!).

Here are a few from the last days of the trip...promise, no more after this!:

Love your last set of pics, Bev! Especially the one of the ruins in the mist. One of the others looks like a mini-Mont St. Michel.

Very cool bobcat, Noj!

A couple of pictures my 11 year old took when we were in Manhattan last week:

Nice photos, alocispepraluger102 and Noj.

Hope those horses are tame...one bit my (luckily booted) foot the other week.

A bobcat certainly beats the frogs I get excited about in my garden!

funny i haven't been close to horses in years but dreamed about a horse kicking and biting me three nights ago

haven't visited this thread in some time, amazing contributions!

The ruin is a tin mine - you find these dotted all over parts of Cornwall. Normally thought of as a rural idyll, Cornwall was actually one of our earliest large-scale industrial areas.

The island is St Michael's Mount near Penzance which was, indeed, founded by monks from Mont St. Michel, a (not so) short boat ride away!

Enjoyed those NY shots - it is such a photogenic city. Must go back!

Love the cow too...I hate to think how many 'cows in a field' photos I've taken. Can't resist!

Very much so..something of an English cowpat composer obsessive (see the England's Dreaming' thread!).

I think I walk round the countryside with these three covers burrowing in my subconscious:

I'm not much of a car guy, but my guess would be a Deusenberg.

Nah, it's an Excalibur Phaeton. Look at the turn signal lights on the fenders. Not exactly a kit car, but rather a replicar built from the mid 60s to early 80s. Designed by Brooks Stevens (Studebaker) to loosely resemble the Mercedes SSK from the late 1920s. They are considered collectable now and some can be worth a few bucks.

The one in the picture Rolf posted like the one below is probably from the mid to late 70s.
