clifford_thornton
Hi everybody, I am being brought out to Fort Wayne to interview for an art library job. If I play my cards right, who knows, I may be posting from northern Indiana. My question is, are there any good record stores in the area? Not only jazz, but also rock/punk and outsider music? Thanks in advance. At least there is a natural grocery store there.

jimi089
Ft. Wayne, Gateway to Toledo! Hey, at least you'd only be a few hours from Chicago - and a couple from Indianapolis if my geography is correct.
youdig
Sweetwater Music is in Fort Wayne and the Woodwind and Brasswind is less than a hour away. These are not record stores but fun places to visit. Edited April 2, 2008 by hammondcheese

Free For All
From Austin to Ft. Wayne? Bring/purchase: - cold weather clothing - snow shovel - scraper - lots of alcohol Not sure if there's any decent Mexican/BBQ there. Survey says maybe not so much. Good luck. The lure of steady employment takes us to new and interesting places we might not have otherwise explored, no? (I speak from experience here) Better potential opportunities to see Organissimo, though.
clifford_thornton
Thanks, all. I hadn't checked the thread in a bit because nobody was replying (leading me to fear the worst). Well, I went from Minneapolis to Austin for grad school, so I still have some sweaters that need to get used. I'd be pumped to see the 'O' and come up to hassle all of you guys (Nessa included!). We shall see where all this leads - it's nice to be thought of as employable again!
