J.A.W. Posted July 4, 2008 Report Posted July 4, 2008 (edited) Anyone willing to part with their Mildred Bailey Mosaic CD-set or know where I can get one? PayPal is my only payment option. Edited July 11, 2008 by J.A.W. Quote
king ubu Posted July 5, 2008 Report Posted July 5, 2008 Not me, I love mine! But don't give up finding one, it's very, very good! (Of course that is if you can stand her voice... no issue at all for me!) I hope you'll be lucky and find someone who hates her singing and hence will sell his/her set! Worth being patient! Quote
sidewinder Posted July 5, 2008 Report Posted July 5, 2008 This is one Mosaic I regret not picking up when I had the chance. Quote
Clunky Posted July 5, 2008 Report Posted July 5, 2008 This is one Mosaic I regret not picking up when I had the chance. Like wise, I wasn't into the pre-war Mosaics when it went OOP but I've since realised just how much fabulous and timeless music was produced in the pre-LP era. Mustn't let the Basie/Lester slip by..... Quote
J.A.W. Posted July 5, 2008 Author Report Posted July 5, 2008 (edited) Fortunately, I have three Red Norvo CDs on the Scottish Hep label with lots of Mildred Bailey vocals, but I'd still like to get the Mosaic By the way, those Hep CDs were mastered by the late John R.T. Davies and they do sound great. Edited July 5, 2008 by J.A.W. Quote
Kalo Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 A little Milldred goes a long way, as far as I'm concerned. But those Hep Norvo CDs sound Cherce! Quote

Mustn't let the Basie/Lester slip by..... Should have a few years to go on that one, hopefully. Incidentally, I believe the Milly is another Scott Wenzel production and if there's one thing I've learnt over the past few years, the Mosaic sets that Scott has been involved with will be (a) Top-notch in terms of research/completeness/quality (b) A real discovery in terms of music I've previously let go by. Gotta get me a Milly (sorry J.A.W.) Quote
jazzbo Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 I believe this was the FIRST Wenzel production. I have had it since it first came out. . .a marvelous set. Quote
vajerzy Posted July 9, 2008 Report Posted July 9, 2008 Too bad you didn't buy mine on Ebay last winter. Quote
