brownie Posted May 4, 2010 Report Posted May 4, 2010 The misspelling was duly noted on this earlier thread! Quote
Swinging Swede Posted May 13, 2010 Author Report Posted May 13, 2010 Duplications are very rare, but occurred sometimes with singers who had made their first sides under some other leader's name. Sarah Vaughan is one example that comes to mind. Her tracks with Dizzy Gillespie, John Kirby, Georgie Auld et cetera occur both on the CDs under her name and on those under the respective leaders' names. But in general it is not something you have to worry about; it is basically each artist's leader sessions that are presented, plus sometimes sessions that were made under the leadership of someone who doesn't have enough sessions to fill a CD of his own. jostber Posted May 13, 2010 Report Posted May 13, 2010 They still got a lot of the Chronological titles over at the Amazon's US, UK and FR. The French site have the most titles, while the other two seem to have lower prices on these. Quote
mjzee Posted August 8, 2010 Report Posted August 8, 2010 Interestingly, it seems that Amazon has pulled all their Chronological Classics downloads. Quote
brownie Posted August 8, 2010 Report Posted August 8, 2010 The Chronological Classics series can still be downloaded at Abeille Musique Quote
J.A.W. Posted August 8, 2010 Report Posted August 8, 2010 The winner of that auction was green_380 who claims he is liquidating his jazz collection on ebay in order to move to Italy I think. He has been selling for about one year or so.Maybe longer. I wonder if he plans to sell these to his loyal customers? Appears that he may have found a new line of work! If green_380 resides in these parts no offense intended. I did have to chuckle though. He has sold quite a collection on ebay as many of you probably know. Guess he just can't leave it all behind. "green_380" is still selling boxed sets by the dozens on eBay. I recently asked him a few questions about some of the items and got rather gruff answers. By the way, he doesn't ship outside the United States. Back to the topic Quote
captainknut Posted February 10, 2011 Report Posted February 10, 2011 I finally found a copy of Duke Ellington 1944-1945. My Ellington collection is now complete. I can now die easy. Quote
