T.D. Posted January 7, 2009 Report Posted January 7, 2009 Thanks, Conn, but my post wasn't a vote for changing the system (there was a certain amount of tongue in cheek, as indicated by my third point above). We announced a set of rules, and made the first week's picks. I wouldn't be comfortable changing rules once the pool is started. I do recommend SS1's setup for future NFL playoff pools. Quote

Aggie87 Posted January 11, 2009 Report Posted January 11, 2009 My picks: Tennessee Pittsburgh NY Football Giants Carolina Well I'm 0-3 so far this weekend! That doesn't bode well for the Steelers. Quote
vajerzy Posted January 12, 2009 Report Posted January 12, 2009 Went 1-3 but my EAGLES are still playing!! Battle of the Birds next week!! Quote
Chalupa Posted January 12, 2009 Report Posted January 12, 2009 Next week's winners: Pittsburgh EAGLES!!! Quote

vajerzy Posted January 13, 2009 Report Posted January 13, 2009 Next week's winners: Pittsburgh EAGLES!!! I like the ALL P-A Superbowl!! Quote
Noj Posted January 13, 2009 Report Posted January 13, 2009 It's tough to bet against the All Pennsylvania Bowl. I agree, Iggles vs. Stoolers. Quote
T.D. Posted January 14, 2009 Report Posted January 14, 2009 (edited) Funny thing about the Eagles last week. They were on the cover of Sports Illustrated, with the headline PHILDELPHIA IS DANGEROUS: Bring on the Giants. Having won convincingly after incurring the dreaded SI Jinx, this may be the Birds' year. Picks: Pittsburgh, Philadelphia Edited January 15, 2009 by T.D. Quote
Aggie87 Posted January 14, 2009 Report Posted January 14, 2009 Philadelphia - they're better than the Redbirds. Baltimore - why not. Quote
connoisseur series500 Posted January 14, 2009 Author Report Posted January 14, 2009 I think Baltimore will beat Pittsburgh. The Steelers are the better team, but I can't see them beating Baltimore three straight, even if Suggs can't play. Quote
Soulstation1 Posted January 16, 2009 Report Posted January 16, 2009 if everyone is taking philly, i will go with arizona and shittsburgh Quote
connoisseur series500 Posted January 21, 2009 Author Report Posted January 21, 2009 Going into the Super Bowl, here are the standings: Noj 7-3 SS1 7-3 Vaj 5-5 JH 4-4 TD 4-6 Agg 3-7 Quote
Aggie87 Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 Zoinks! 3-7 LOL. I'll pick the Steelers this time. Which means anyone else who picks the Cards will probably be right. Quote
Noj Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 (edited) I'll take Arizona, even though I think Pittsburgh will win. Go Cards. Total points 41. Edited January 21, 2009 by Noj Quote
Chalupa Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 (edited) I think Arizona has a good shot. Pittsburgh is banged up. I want Pittsburgh to win, and they should win, but the Cards are on a huge roll right now. I'll pick Arizona. Edit: 45 total. Edited January 21, 2009 by J.H. Deeley Quote
T.D. Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 (edited) I'll stick with the strategy of picking favorites, which has practically made me "Mr. Irrelevant" in the standings, and take Pittsburgh. Now all the smart guys can pick AZ... Whoa, I just noticed, guys who have a shot at winning the pool should pick a total # of points as a tiebreaker. FWIW, I'll use the last over/under line I saw, 47. Edited January 21, 2009 by T.D. Quote
Soulstation1 Posted January 30, 2009 Report Posted January 30, 2009 i am going with pittsburgh on the spread i like the cards + 7 pts i think the steelers win by 4/5 pts Quote
