paul secor Posted August 7, 2007 Posted August 7, 2007 Two very good recordings with Claude Lawrence, Wibur Morris, and Denis Charles: Claude Lawrence Trio: Presenting (CIMP) Lost Art/Hidden Treasures (New Fountain) Haven't heard those - will have to keep an eye out. Claude Lawrence is on the Sirone Live LP (along with Denis), but gets far too little solo space. Yeah - Claude Lawrence's playing wasn't well served on the Sirone recording. The two trio recordings are much better. Claude Lawrence is a fine alto saxophonist and he, Morris, and Charles make up a very fine trio. I like Lost Art/Hidden Treasures a little better than Presenting, but I think you'll enjoy either one. Cadence has both titles. Quote
