Dave James
I stumbled across this by accident. It's a series of stills celebrating the career of Victor Feldman. The real reason it's worth "viewing" is to hear the private recording of Chick Corea's "Spain" that accompanies the video. When they hit the groove about a minute in, it just takes off. This guy was one fine pianist. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2q4DQWDfrME Up over and out. Edited August 22, 2009 by Dave James

sidewinder
Steve Cerra has a wonderful and informative series on Victor Feldman on his Jazz Profiles blog! Thanks ! That's a nice photo of Feldman with the late Allan Ganley and Tony Crombie on the blog. A brief audio exerpt of 'Kid Krupa' in action can be heard at the beginning of the Concord LP 'The Artful Dodger'. For sure, Miles Davis' impecabble talent-spotting antennae were spot on with respect to Victor Feldman !
BruceH
Thanks for the clip! I love Victor Feldman. Ah, what it must be like to have such talent.
medjuck
My father-in-law talks about seeing Feldman in London when he was a young prodigy (on drums?). I feel stupid because near the end of his life he used to play near me at a small club in Sherman Oaks and I never went to see him.

BruceH
Thanks for that. An 'infant progeny' indeed!
mikeweil
He had such a tremendous groove - why did he have to die so young?
