WILLIE NELSON IS GONNA BE ON BLUE NOTE!!!!!

As far as not liking his music...different strokes and all that, but if you can find a decent used LP of this one, put it on Side 2, have a dance and a beer (or two)and see what you think:

Norah, yes. That could be very good.

But Krall...what's the point?

Actually heard an add for this on one of the Sirius-XM country stations over the weekend (long story, don't ask...), heard a 10 second or so excerpt of "Fly Me To the Moon" and nearly drove off the road laughing (not in a good way)...and LTB was laughing too hard to help me...hope at least most of the album is better than that. I'll need to hear a lot more before committing to considering.

Hey, I love Willie, love a fair amount of his music, most of his attitude, and god knows he's more than earned the right to do what WTF he wants to do (and besides, Stardust was a none-too-shabby work back in the day), and I do dig Joe Sample, at least in principle, but...

Hey.

I knew there must have been a reason for Willie turning up as the main character in an episode of "Monk" when I watched it last week....it's Blue Note new marketing push!

I like his music, but i could do without all his side project doing duets with about everybody who pops up in a recording room. The guy still has a great voice a great presence, what he needs on a more constant basis are better artistic projects.

What is it with these famous artists during their last years doing duets with everyone but the janitor.

I agree. When I hear the Willie Nelson/Kid Rock duet, I just cringe. I blame the IRS.

did Granz do something with his janitor?

all seriousness aside, a few years back I heard Nelson on one of those tributes-to-Willie concerts on TV, and it was nice - the BIGGEST surprise was his guitar solo style which shows a great debt to - none other than Django, and more so than to any other guitar player.

Now don't do anything rash.

I'm going to co-opt this one, if that's OK. I'll make good use of it.

Take it and run with it.

:rfr now that's funny.
