hey all. i've been throwing away jewel cases and keeping my cds in "case logic" cases for about 15 years now, so i don't have the "backer cards" for any of these cds. but i of course kept the liner notes when there were any. some of these were 'advance' copies and are marked as such on the disc. unless otherwise noted, all cds will come in a new 'slim' case w/ original liner notes (the first few may get regular size jewel cases). all of these cds play fine w/ no skips. there may be marks but no serious scratches, and most are very clean.

I don't know if you ship abroad, but overseas customers might still prefer paying through PayPal. It's by far the safest international payment method, and sending cash across the pond is a hazardous undertaking. Besides, in the euro zone changing euros for dollars often isn't cheap. Checks and International Money Orders are no longer used in many euro countries, and international bank transfers to destinations outside the euro zone are very expensive.

Minor point: I'd call Herb Alpert and Frank Sinatra's Reprise recordings pop, not jazz.

i just started the process of setting up a paypal account. since i don't have an online banking passcode i couldn't set it up 'instantly.' i have to check for tiny deposits in my bank account over the next 2-3 days and then go back into my paypal account to confirm the deposit amounts. seems pretty cool. if anyone wants to send a check, feel free to let me know. but it's cool that i'm catching up to the 21st century and am setting up this paypal thing! i guess i shoulda done it a while back. i will PM people and mark certain items on 'hold' until i get my shit straight. i'll bump the thread when my account is a go. hopefully it'll just stay up

thanks for letting me know your experience with paypal. that's good to hear. i'm so used to dealing w/ checks and the issues involved (physically going to the bank, waiting for them to 'clear,' etc...) that i don't give it a 2nd thought or get annoyed by it. maybe after i get the paypal thing going and use it for a while it'll give me another thing to be annoyed with?

As for those checks... well, I never thought I'd be a convert to electronic banking (and I still write the odd check on paper), but I've joined the other camp on this.

Looks like you've never bought anything on Ebay - it's the primary means of payment there. I think that's why most folks have Paypal accounts, even if they don't use them much.

As others have said, Paypal is great for purchases made outside one's home country. No need to hassle with the fees, etc. that are part of most banks' ways of doing this.

But time is worth something too, and paypal saves me a LOT of time. I carry a balance there with my various CD and other eBay sales, and just work off of that with any purchases. I think it is a great service, highly recommended overall..

On that note, please hold the Oregon CD for me! I can send a check if need be, but would prefer to just use paypal

For over 2 years, I attempted to crush paypal by refusing to use them. After that apparently failed and they were still thriving, I reluctantly set up a free account, but refused to allow them to take any of my money through fees for accepting payments from credit cards. More recently, having accepted that I was unlikely to bring them to their knees, I knuckled under and set up a "Premier" or some such account so I can accept payments any way a person wants to pay. I just have to fork over 2.9% of every payment. But paypal is so convenient and saves me so much time and hassle, with both buying and selling online, that it is still worth it to me. I hate to admit it but it is true...
