Teasing the Korean Posted February 20, 2010 Report Posted February 20, 2010 What a great film - not at all what I was expecting. No spoilers here, but it kind of starts as a wacky comedy and quickly changes direction. Jack Lemmon and Shirley MacLaine are both amazing in this film. Apparently, this movie was a big influence on "Madmen." Quote

Alexander Posted February 20, 2010 Report Posted February 20, 2010 Yeah, great film. I'm a big Billy Wilder fan, and I love his films with Jack Lemmon... Quote
brownie Posted February 20, 2010 Report Posted February 20, 2010 The Apartment has been on my 10 best films list ever since I first saw it after its release. Superb cast with even the secondary roles played to perfection! Quote
Jazzmoose Posted February 20, 2010 Report Posted February 20, 2010 Once I got past the shock of the father from My Three Sons as a jerk, it quickly became a favorite. I have no idea how many times I've watched this one. I must say that I've never seen a film with Ray Walston in the cast that wasn't great, even though he never seems to have a big part. I guess if you know enough to hire Walston, you pretty much know what you're doing... Quote
BERIGAN Posted February 20, 2010 Report Posted February 20, 2010 i used to know his great-grandaughter, she is very attractive Billy Wilder's??? Jack Lemmon's??? Fred MacMurray's???? Ray Ralston's??? Wait, he hasn't been mentioned yet. Quote
Teasing the Korean Posted February 20, 2010 Author Report Posted February 20, 2010 I've had the LP on United Artists for ages. Some nice stuff on there. Music by Adolph Deutsch, who is probably most famous for scoring "The Maltese Falcon." Quote

ghost of miles Posted February 20, 2010 Report Posted February 20, 2010 One of my all-time faves as well. My mother-in-law worked for J. Walter Thompson in the late 1950s and early 1960s and says the office Christmas party scene was a pretty accurate representation of the culture at the time. I think I read somewhere that this film is required watching for the cast and writers of MAD MEN. Quote
