Oh, for heavens sake. I started the Kagan thread...and 'yes,' I told Allen (who at that very moment was perusing my thread) that I would lock it for a few minutes because he'd been tweakin' me yesterday on the taxes thread (see post #2). Gee whiz, Matthew...lighten up.

Matthew doesn't need to lighten up, and I don't think he's overreacting. I had the same reaction. Extra moderators to help with the heavy lifting? No problem. But joking around in that role is unacceptable, in my opinion. Hit me the wrong way as well.

Well, I figured it would be okay to pull a quick stunt like that on my very own thread in the oft wild & whacky political forum...particularly when I clearly stated up front that it was my intention to monkey around for a few minutes and then re-open it. Anyone who read it knew straight up that that was the game -- however, clearly I failed to accurately gauge the reaction of the half-dozen people I expected to witness the high jinx in the political forum and I apologize for the violation.
