webbcity Posted June 15, 2010 Report Posted June 15, 2010 I've been a member here since 2004, and I haven't posted a whole lot, but definitely a lot more than 26 times. I've had long periods of inactivity though...does a person's post count reset to zero or something if they are not active for a while? Just curious. Quote

There was some sort of server/database problem a few years ago that resulted everyone's post count being lessened. Your smaller tally is likely related to that. Quote

Thanks for satisfying my curiosity! Quote
J.A.W. Posted June 15, 2010 Report Posted June 15, 2010 Don't know if you posted there, but posts in the Politics/Religion forum don't count anymore. Quote
kh1958 Posted June 15, 2010 Report Posted June 15, 2010 Also, if you look at your profile, you will see that your "active posts" total exceeds the total shown with your post. Quote

Jim Alfredson Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 Because we had a database mess-up (caused inadvertently by your's truly) and lost some content. I just recounted everyone's posts. I couldn't find a way to just do an individual's. Some of you may have less posts because posts that have been deleted were not counted. Quote
Christiern Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 Not that it matters to me, but why are Political Forum posts excluded from the count? Judging by my own relatively high total, this must be a recent decision—is it? Quote
BeBop Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 Holy smokes. My post count just made a pretty substantial bump-up. I've wasted more of everyone's time/storage space than I thought. There I go again... Quote

Ah, so that's why my post count suddenly seemed to go down by about 1,000. I just noticed. No big deal, really... Quote
Harold_Z Posted June 19, 2010 Report Posted June 19, 2010 This is just a frivolous post to see where my count is. Quote
Bill Nelson Posted June 20, 2010 Report Posted June 20, 2010 It's a relief to see that frivolity still counts around here. This reminds me of the time my neighborhood tavern asked me to leave -- -- they wanted to start Happy Hour. Quote
