Bluerein Posted October 6, 2010 Report Posted October 6, 2010 And as always is the information not accurate. The Moodsville MV-6 was on cd in Japan some years ago..... Quote
The Magnificent Goldberg Posted October 6, 2010 Report Posted October 6, 2010 Looks good to me - the only album I've got from this set is "Groovy". Everything else I've got of Red is from after this period. Damn good price, too. MG And as always is the information not accurate. The Moodsville MV-6 was on cd in Japan some years ago..... Does that mean they DIDN'T rip tat album from the CD? So it's a vinyl rip? MG Quote
brownie Posted October 6, 2010 Report Posted October 6, 2010 The same company (Solar) is also releasing a previously unissued concert by Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers on a double CD. With Lee Morgan, Benny Golson, Bobby Timmons ad Jymie Merrit. A December 1958 concert in Zurich. Live in Zurich 1958! Quote
Bluerein Posted October 6, 2010 Report Posted October 6, 2010 Magnificent????What do you mean....It doesn't say anything about the origin of these sounds on the new cd's. They've stated that LP (MV-6) was never on cd and I only told you that isn't true because I have it on cd. Quote
tranemonk Posted October 6, 2010 Report Posted October 6, 2010 yes it's our friends from a deriative of the Fresh Sounds label.. They also came out with the Coleman Hawkins and Eddie Lockjaw Davis 3CD sets earlier... I got both of those and ordered the Red Garland. As many problems as there are with the non-royalty issues.. these sets are very well made.... Quote
The Magnificent Goldberg Posted October 7, 2010 Report Posted October 7, 2010 Magnificent????What do you mean....It doesn't say anything about the origin of these sounds on the new cd's. They've stated that LP (MV-6) was never on cd and I only told you that isn't true because I have it on cd. Sorry - it wasn't a dig at you, Reiner. These Andorran firms seem always to rip stuff off other CDs but, if they didn't know MV6 had been on a CD, they must have pinched it off an LP. MG Quote
Bluesnik Posted October 14, 2010 Report Posted October 14, 2010 that's a very good idea. pity it's not by the material owners but by some other label. Quote
