Peter Johnson Posted February 3, 2011 Report Posted February 3, 2011 In true Blue Note fashion, it looks like it's credited to "Hank Modley" (who is still no match for Honk Moseley). Quote
brownie Posted February 3, 2011 Report Posted February 3, 2011 Three bids since chewy posted this (any bidders from Organissimo?). Interesting to find out how high it will go in six days... Quote
mjazzg Posted February 3, 2011 Report Posted February 3, 2011 One from my collection (posted before, but what the heck) how'd that make it to the UK? As cool as..... Quote
Christiern Posted February 4, 2011 Report Posted February 4, 2011 What's the big deal? Why pay such a relatively high price for a pressing that probably has inferior sound (compared to a good reissue, for example), and comes without cover and notes? Is a hand-written label more important than the music? I have quite a few test pressings, but none of them have a better sound than the issued product. Guess one has to have that collector mania. What do you say, Chuck N.? Quote

JSngry Posted February 4, 2011 Report Posted February 4, 2011 If I ever want one bad enough to pay that kind of buckage for it, it will be as an object. Quote

JohnS Posted February 4, 2011 Report Posted February 4, 2011 One from my collection (posted before, but what the heck) JohnS, you are officially the coolest guy here. This was one of my luckiest finds, especially as it was very hard to find at the time. I came across it in the secondhand bin at Asman's London. IIRC it cost the equivalent of about $3. I can't recall it sounding inferior to other BNs. Quote
