Don't think this'll go for TOO much, but the paste-on sleeve is kind of interesting.

Brownie, have you seen a Folkways-style jacket for this one?

Spirits on Debut

Mmmm, according to the auction description it's an "original Dutch pressing", while the label on the picture clearly mentions "Made in Denmark"...

I have that album with the same Folkways-style jacket. And Made in Denmark pressing!

This was the original issue.

Yeah, the "Dutch" was obviously a goof - it appears to be white-on-black, rather than the white-on-white that I've seen elsewhere. I have the Transatlantic, and have never held the Debut in my hands.

I emailed the seller, and they corrected the misinformation...

MY GOD!

I remember getting offered loads of the LT version of that...literally handfuls of LPs and I think they were $5 a piece and I thought I should only buy 2 or 3

Mind you I too have never seen the Japanese copy before now either ....but still $660

ouch...(ain't even that good I think)

I think it was a fluke. Just one bid-topper and one other goofball. None of the other bids were much higher than $100.

Top prices here....What I don't really like is eBays new policy where bidders real identity is hidden behind numbers. Don't ask me why?

This one also is available on CD. Anyway, they strongly prefer the original LP

Why so high?

I wouldn't be surprised if it hits 5Gs...

Clifford is an expert :o

Winning bid was $5,360

Another Hank Mobley LP showing up!

Condition does not seem as good as the one that hits more than 5Gs...

For a so-called rarity of 500 presings there are a lot of these coming up at the moment on ebay.

Is this like some sort of variation of baseball card trading?

Yup. I suggest the highest bidder to specify registered mail to Japan and insist on strong packaging. Nice guys at Atomic records, but they could easily send it regular in a standard bags unlimited mailer.

Nor was the reserve met on Dusk Fire, at over $650!

:o

That would have to be a very good copy.

Postscript - same copy seems to have gone for $900 on a 'buy it now'.
