clifford_thornton Posted May 21, 2011 Report Posted May 21, 2011 Black & Blue put these out and they were/are a French label. Quote
brownie Posted May 21, 2011 Report Posted May 21, 2011 The Midnight Slows series was launched in the '70s by the French label Black & Blue. The label recorded many sessions with visiting jazz musicians. The series success was due to its non-obstrusive music and its soft sex covers (mostly from photos by David Hamilton). Lots of very enjoyable music there. Quote
Big Beat Steve Posted May 21, 2011 Report Posted May 21, 2011 @Brownie. So these were diferent from and no overlaps with the commonly known black & Blue LP series of those times, e.g. the "Jazz Greatest Names" series? This was the Black & Blue series I remember being all over the place in the record shops in the mid- to late 70s. Quote
sidewinder Posted May 21, 2011 Report Posted May 21, 2011 The 'Midnight Slows' LPs were all over the London LP shops in the 1970s. I often wondered what the music was like in them - but that was not their primary appeal. Quote
