chewy-chew-chew-bean-benitez Posted June 7, 2011 Report Posted June 7, 2011 http://cgi.ebay.com/Lee-Morgan-Out-There-rare-new-cassette-tape-/390319782181?pt=Music_Cassettes&hash=item5ae0df3925 THIS IS, by far and away the best sounding lee morgan ive ever heard in my life including original blue note 1st pressings. yes, its noticably a live recording and you can tell by a lack of high end. that being said this recording has the most PRESENCE ive ever heard on a jazz record in my life, it is literally as if lee + band are "in the room" with you. i have the lp version but the tape version will no doubt be similar, this tape is sealed so you wont need to worry about condition. HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommended to any fans of lee morgan/blue note, et al- someone snap this up! Quote
Bill Nelson Posted June 7, 2011 Report Posted June 7, 2011 Somehow I'm reminded of the 'Green Acres' episode where Mr. Haney sells recorded music. Quote
sidewinder Posted June 7, 2011 Report Posted June 7, 2011 Then you have to go back on ebay to source a 'functioning' casette player. Quote

bertrand Posted June 7, 2011 Report Posted June 7, 2011 This set and other tracks from the same gig were all put together on one Fresh Sound 2-CD set called Live At The Lighthouse '70. Get the later version, which has correct track titles and composers, not that anyone is getting royalties. Bertrand. Quote

chewy-chew-chew-bean-benitez Posted June 9, 2011 Author Report Posted June 9, 2011 well the sound of the phoenix lp is incredible- i have to revisit the fresh sound to see what i think of that. Quote
chewy-chew-chew-bean-benitez Posted June 11, 2011 Author Report Posted June 11, 2011 did someone buy this yet. i am seriously telling you, the XRCD Tomcat, thats good- this live 1972 live recording, is aboustely incredible. i have the vinyl issue from the same record co. (phoenix) and it is BEYOND BELIEF. i would trade an original Orgy In Rhythm Vol 1 for that. (i got 2 of them, lolz) Quote

And presumably the tracks were recorded at the 'Both/And' - although there have been contradictory stories on this. Edited June 11, 2011 by sidewinder Quote
