7/4
nice....reminds me of Long Island during the heat wave.
A Lark Ascending
Beautiful. Expect Omar Shariff to appear in a haze in the distance any second. Bet there are already 'entrepreneurs' assessing its viability as a site for a brand new casino city.
JSngry
Reminds me of the drive from Vegas to Albuquerque.
T.D.
Very cool and surprisingly Earthlike. Reminds me of some of the landscapes in the movie No Country For Old Men...half expected to see Javier Bardem with a weird-ass haircut blowing somebody's brains out... johnlitweiler
Looks like the semi-desert of UT, CO, AZ, NM. "Unseen life" indeed. What is the surface temperature there?
7/4
As the friend who sent it to me said, "Looks like it's teeming with unseen life." there's little red men just below the surface!
Big Wheel
Looks like the semi-desert of UT, CO, AZ, NM. "Unseen life" indeed. What is the surface temperature there? Roughly, a balmy -30 degrees Celsius, though maybe a bit warmer (~0 Celsius) if the Spirit rover's data is any indication. If there's any life there, it either lives deep in a crater where pressure is higher, or else has evolved to cope with water going straight from ice to a gas without passing through the liquid phase. Water on Mars acts like dry ice on Earth.
