JSngry Posted March 2, 2012 Report Posted March 2, 2012 Has this been happening to y'all? One guy sends me a pack of Branson On Stage trading cards along with the record I bought. Uh, thanks? Another guy sends along a really crappy (but damn near Mint condition) Atlanta Rhythm Section LP with no cover, no sleeve, not nothing, just a naked LP. Guess he thought about as much of the music as I did. But still... One the one hand, it's eccentrically charming. On the other hand, hey, use a freakin' dumpster, ok? Good thing I only have two hands... Share you stories here! Quote
lipi Posted March 2, 2012 Report Posted March 2, 2012 That's excellent! I've never been lucky (?) enough to receive an ebay freebie. I hope you passed that record along to the Pay-it-forward thread. Or perhaps you should have included it as an extra in an ebay auction of your own. Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted March 2, 2012 Report Posted March 2, 2012 As an avid recycler this seems perfect. Gift it rather than throw it. If 25% of the "gifts" find a home everybody wins. Quote
king ubu Posted March 2, 2012 Report Posted March 2, 2012 A not-to-be-named member of this forum sent me an empty (darn!) bottle of Ubu Ale along with some music I still have it on display here! Quote
rostasi Posted April 28, 2012 Report Posted April 28, 2012 This just came with an eBay win of some RSA SecureID tags. Usually, if there's anything extra, it's a postcard or business card or some such thing, but this was a surprise. I have no idea what he's talkin' 'bout, but we must've been beaten badly. ®ø∂ --- Now playing: Tres Senores Del Son - No Tiene Telerana Quote
paul secor Posted April 28, 2012 Report Posted April 28, 2012 Not E-Bay, but Chuck once sent me several Nessa LP covers as packing around something I'd bought - can't remember what it was. The Charles Tyler cover was in better shape than the cover on my LP, so I replaced the one I had with it. Quote
Dave James Posted April 28, 2012 Report Posted April 28, 2012 (edited) hey, use a freakin' dumpster, ok? I think he is. His name is Jim. Edited April 28, 2012 by Dave James Quote
mikeweil Posted April 28, 2012 Report Posted April 28, 2012 I once got a nice selfmade compilation of Christmas pop tunes as a bonus - it was that time of the year ... Quote
JSngry Posted May 1, 2012 Author Report Posted May 1, 2012 Ok, so i won a dirt cheap copy of Kenton/Ritter, which arrived today accompanied by a covered-but-inner-sleeveless copy of Les Baxter's Baxter's Best. Is that like getting a second order of fries for free? Quote
Chuck Nessa Posted May 1, 2012 Report Posted May 1, 2012 More like getting Hershey's chocolate on your fries. Quote
JSngry Posted May 1, 2012 Author Report Posted May 1, 2012 Salty-sweet...all the rage these days...but in this case, I can't tell which is which... Quote
