mikeweil
Listened to the three sessions with Mingus earlier this evening - Teddy Charles was the greatest ballad vibist of all - few notes, sparingly spread with perfect timing, almost no vibrato - no cover, no hiding place, just great music. Did you know he had a duo with Mingus in the latter's California days? Must have been something!
paul secor
He was involved with some interesting - in the best sense of that word - music. Thanks, Mr. Charles.
Chuck Nessa
Old folks die. Some do much more than others, some do great stuff and never get recognized, some do lesser stuff and get recognized. We are all in a queue somewhere. Be appreciative of what you received and be ready to take your turn. Mr. Charles was in the middle of the pack, which means he's a hero to me.
