JSngry Posted May 5, 2012 Report Posted May 5, 2012 Never too young to learn - don't fuck with a cat! Quote
Jazzmoose Posted May 5, 2012 Report Posted May 5, 2012 I feel as though I should have some concern for the kid, but I'm laughing too hard... Quote
Shawn Posted May 5, 2012 Report Posted May 5, 2012 The kid punched the cat, he got what he deserved. Quote
ejp626 Posted May 5, 2012 Report Posted May 5, 2012 I don't have any sympathy for the kid, but I sure question the judgement of the adult who put this on the web. Quote
Noj Posted May 5, 2012 Report Posted May 5, 2012 (edited) Yeah, how does the one behind the camera just watch that happen? Cats do not take that sort of abuse without retaliating with scratching and biting, both of which make for nasty, germ-infused wounds. The kid could have been scarred, or blinded, or really hurt in the fall afterward... Edited May 5, 2012 by Noj Quote
Tim McG Posted May 5, 2012 Report Posted May 5, 2012 (edited) With all due respect, I don't think this is funny at all. If I live to be a thousand years-old, I will never understand how a crying child is a source of entertainment to anyone...especially to the "parents" who film this stuff. Nothing funny about a kid getting hurt and probably already got scratched before this was video taped. I, too, seriously question the "judgement" of the person recording this then putting it on YouTube as a potential source of further derison as the kid gets older and his peers see it. It was almost as if the person recording this was encouraging this crap. Unless, of course, the "parents" are abusive SOBs themselves. Edited May 5, 2012 by GoodSpeak Quote
alocispepraluger102 Posted May 5, 2012 Report Posted May 5, 2012 our organissimo resident cat is named lowe. don't mess with lowe. Quote
.:.impossible Posted May 5, 2012 Report Posted May 5, 2012 I wouldn't dream of messing with a cat. Because what kind of dream would that be? Darn THAT dream! Quote
Spontooneous Posted May 5, 2012 Report Posted May 5, 2012 The cat may be the only member of that family who can teach that kid to be a responsible human. Quote
JSngry Posted May 5, 2012 Author Report Posted May 5, 2012 Darn and cats go together. Point simply being - don't fuck with a cat. Quote
Jazzmoose Posted May 6, 2012 Report Posted May 6, 2012 If I live to be a thousand years-old, I will never understand how a crying child is a source of entertainment to anyone... Sorry, but an asshole getting their comeuppance is enjoyable no matter how old the asshole is. I guess if you're part of the crowd with no memory who thinks kids are always little angels, it would seem odd. Quote

kinuta Posted May 6, 2012 Report Posted May 6, 2012 We had our last cat for 22 years but she wasn't adverse to 'correcting' me if I made an unwelcome intrusion into her space. I have scars on my lip and hand to prove it. Still love cats though Quote

I guess if you're part of the crowd with no memory who thinks kids are always little angels, it would seem odd. This is a child, fer crissakes. How on EARTH do you equate innocence with being an asshole? Seriously, Jim. This is a clear case of a parent who cares more about getting a YouTube moment than he is protecting his own kid. With all due respect, I think you are over justifying this. Edited May 6, 2012 by GoodSpeak Quote
JSngry Posted May 6, 2012 Author Report Posted May 6, 2012 Jim? That was Moose. All I'm saying is don't fuck with a cat. It's a life lesson. Learn it the easy way or learn it the hard way. But you will learn it. Quote
jeffcrom Posted May 6, 2012 Report Posted May 6, 2012 This is a clear case of a parent who cares more about getting a YouTube moment than he is protecting his own kid. Assuming that the parents were the ones who recorded and posted this, in my opinion they can only be faulted if: 1) They told the kid to hit the cat. 2) The child was seriously hurt. The latter doesn't appear to be the case. I like this video because of what it shows about life. Life is learning, and this child just learned a valuable lesson. He hit the cat hard, and learned that there were consequences. Presumably he's fine, and a little smarter. Quote
BERIGAN Posted May 6, 2012 Report Posted May 6, 2012 Kid was already crying, so something happened we didn't see in the GIF. And just because the kid (or the cat) weren't hurt, we assume...have to agree with others camera operator is the real asshole. But, yeah, don't f with a cat! Quote

This would clearly indicate he already got scratched by the cat. The only "lesson" I see here is learning to hit in retaliation. Seems to me there are far better ways to accomplish this task than allowing, and on camera, an animal to leap at then claw and bite the child, don't you think? Edited May 6, 2012 by GoodSpeak Quote
Noj Posted May 6, 2012 Report Posted May 6, 2012 The only cat my family ever had that lived a long while (Rocky, RIP) was one mean mofo. We'd have never let a baby sit anywhere near him. Quote
