JSngry
The whole sheet, front and back, looks like a picture-sleeve 45. Imagine sending your mail with Jimi Hendrix stamps. Now you can.And now I will, thank you, America, I guess, right? So, what else will I live to see?

Jazzmoose
Awesome; I'm starting to run low on Ray Charles and Johnny Cash...
BFrank
I thought the artwork was cheesy, but I guess I should get a sheet anyway. The fact that Jimi is on a USPS stamp is reason enough!
7/4
I wasn't too excited by the design. Any photo of Jimi looks hipper than that stamp.

Hot Ptah
How about the Art Tatum stamp? When will that happen? It is rather amazing that Jimi Hendrix is on a stamp though. In 1970 it did not seem likely at all. He was a symbol of all that many adults found so wrong about that crazy younger generation.

I told her that gee, this is proof that in some parallel universe somewhere, everything went right. She didn't really get it, but the old guy at the station next to her's LOL'ed. Hot Ptah
I know several people age 15-40 who certainly do not know who Jimi Hendrix is. Since he was not a hip hop or post-2000 pop country artist, they would not understand why anyone would know who he is. So the young postal employee's reaction does not surprise me.
