Hardbopjazz
Charles Lloyd played the Village Vanguard for the first time in 50 years on March 15, 2015. Both sets were great. Edited March 17, 2015 by Hardbopjazz

Milestones
So what is most revealing in the book?
medjuck
I always though Michel Petrucciani sought out Lloyd in Big Sur and talked him into performing again. Turns out they met by accident and it was more that the then relatively unknown Petrucciani inspired Lloyd. Also Lloyd never really stopped recording. Peter Friedman
Watched that Charles Lloyd segment on the PBS new hour when it was broadcast 2 nights ago. Was quite surprised and pleased that they showed it. Though not a huge Charles Lloyd fan, I thought the segment was damn good. Was only disappointed that the piano player was not identified. Anyone able to indicate who he was?
JSngry
Jason Moran, isn't it?
kh1958
Yes, the pianist in the clip linked above is Jason Moran. In recent years, Charles Lloyd uses either Jason Moran or Gerald Clayton on piano, when his group includes a piano.
