Though I have all the master takes (and PART of the alternates) from both labels I just might be tempted for that set (upgrading ... ;)) but am wondering what kind of money one will have to shell out ...

 

Checked out the Savoy web site linked in that article ... on a totally unrelated side note, amazing to see that Big Bad Voodoo Daddy is still around ... Now whaddayaknow ...

Way too muich. The master takes of the Dials and Savoys fit on about 5 LPs.

With the rest of the masters, we're at around 7 LPs, I guess -- which would leave room for a selection of alternates. I'm not in the market for this, just curious.

I'll stick with my old Savoy 5LP set and probably get hold of the Mosaic Dial.

I too have the 5 LP Savoy set. Also have the Dial material on Spotlite LPs. That's good enough for me, but I'm happy that this material will be readily available for those who want it on vinyl.

Too bad they don't have the nerve to issue interesting packages of folks like Eager, Byas and Brew Moore. Much other material to be mined.
