Ameling is one of my favorite classical singers. Such an expressive voice, so effortless and natural.

Agreed! But I'm afraid, the label, agOgique, is introuble - their website is offline for some weeks now, it is many months ago that I received their newsletter, and many CDs from their catalogue are listed as no longer available at several online stores. I received the last copy JPC had in stock. If true, it would be very sad, as their releases always were of high quality, excellent playing and sound, and often rarely heard music, as with the music of Dall'Abaco father and son.

This morning's music:

Another underrated piece of work: Violinist Valerio Lositio underpins in his excellent elaborate liner notes that this first printed collection of Telemann is a work of genius - I think he is perfectly correct. His violin playing is the best I have heard in the last twenty years: perfect timing and intomation, with very spare vibrato, but a sweet, beautiful tone - whoever says it needs constant vibrato is proved wrong by this. Highly recommended for all lovers of baroque violin music.

A perfect introduction to the piano music of this genius, vividly performed, very convincing.
