mikeweil Posted Wednesday at 11:36 PM Report Posted Wednesday at 11:36 PM (edited) This afternoon: Very good album with her own liner notes correcting some popular misconceptions about the use of recorders at the Berlin / Sanssouci court. The instrument was still played very often, despite the king's prominence of the transverse flute. Janitsch's pieces, it is now thought, were meant to be played with an alto recorder rather than a transverse flute. Very interesting. Edited Wednesday at 11:37 PM by mikeweil Quote
