I only have one of his records, the NICE AND EASY, an excellent session on JAZZLAND JLP67. Rec.Jan.29 1962. The rest of the band were Johnny Griffin, Bobby Timmons, Sam Jones and Louis Hayes. Consequently, this is a nice, cooking and sophisticated record.  Next I'm going to buy Bobby Timmons feat.Johhny Lytle's  - Workin' Out.

I just played some cuts from it on youtube, and is it ever good!! Timmons is definitely in great shape on it, and imho in a significantly more modal state of mind than on the other albums of his that I've heard.

I enjoy Lytle. I haven't got that much by him but most of what I have is notable for an often  joyous sound leaving me with a feel good feeling.

johnny Lytle was one of my favorite vibraphonists.  If you don't have it, you should definitely check him out on this classic

and these are a couple of nice releases from later in his career on Muse.  I don't know how easy they might be to find today, though.

I agree - the later stuff on Milestone and Muse is great! And 'People and love' on Milestone is his best ever. I think it's not easy to get except on download. But, if you're a fan of the great Marvin Cabell, you have to have that one. What Lytle was playing on several tracks of that was out of this world, too.
