Rooster_Ties
How's their earlier Freddie Hubbard date from ~1980? - the one with Phil Ranelin (and a live version of Giant Steps). I've been tempted by that one for a while, maybe now's the time.
BFrank
Haven't heard it. I have the Jones/Lewis BB, Larry Young, Getz at the KK, and Sarah Vaughan sets. The only one that doesn't work for me is Sarah's. It's later in her career and she falls back on her operatic idiosyncrasies too much for my taste. Dan Gould
Don't know if I'll take advantage or not but I am so glad I clicked on the link. They've got a comp coming out in October that is mostly tracks from their many fine archival issues but then there is this: Jazz Haunts even includes 3 tracks from not-yet-released projects from Motown guitarist Dennis Coffey, The Three Sounds featuring Gene Harris, and the legendary Wes Montgomery. We even have the title: The Three Sounds featuring Gene Harris (Groovin' Hard: Live at The Penthouse 1964-1968) The two Gene Harris Quartet releases on Reasonance are excellent but I had practically given up hope for more. The fact that they're actually working on a Three Sounds set is flippin' awesome as far as I am concerned. BTW, for those more interested in more new Wes, that session is: Recordings from the Carroll DeCamp archives

jazztrain
Anyone heard the Tommy Flanagan/Jaki Byard duo recording? Any comments? Does it work?
JSngry
Is this the same label that did the Jimmy Giuffre w/Joe Chambers gigs? That thing was awedome.

I have it; it is good, but it is only partly a duo recording. Each pianist plays several solo pieces as well.
