Brian Lynch's Latin Woody Shaw Tribute on Kickstarter

Brian Lynch has a Kickstarter campaign going for a Latin Woody Shaw tribute.  Joining him are fellow trumpeters Sean Jones, Dave Douglas, Diego Urcola, Etienne Charles, Josh Evans, Michael Rodriguez and Philip Dizack, along with pianist Zaccai Curtis, bassist Luques Curtis, drummer Obed Calvaire and percussionists Pedrito Martinez, Little Johnny Rivero and Anthony Carrillo.  I'm excited to hear this one when it comes out.  Here is the link: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1927361678/support-brian-lynchs-latin-jazz-project-madera-lat.

Let this serve as a reminder to us all that the best way to kickstart any kind of tribute for any artist is to buy their stuff while they're alive!

Having said that, Brian Lynch has all kinds of credlegitmacy with me. Will definitely keep an eye out on this one.

Every time this thread comes up it reads, "Brian Lynch's Latin Woody". 

And I think to myself, "Brian Lynch doesn't SOUND like a Latin name..."

From the project description:  "In trumpet combinations from duo to quartet, these eminent horns explore Shaw classics including In A Capricornian Way, Tomorrow’s Destiny, Zoltan, Song Of Songs, Sweet Love Of Mine, and more, along with two original pieces - one a extended suite - written by Lynch in salute to the profound influence Woody has had on him as a player and composer."

The video features snippets of 'Zoltan' and 'Time Is Right', a Lynch original.  I backed the project solely on the description without first watching the video, which may have been a first for me.  This is going to be a great album.
