duaneiac Posted November 20, 2017 Report Posted November 20, 2017 I saw the spine of this disc in my Art Hodes section yesterday and thought, "Hmmmm, I haven't played that one in a while". I pulled it out and discovered why that was -- half the disc consists of his previously released Christmas album. It's a little early in the season for it, but I decided to give it a listen. Mr. Hodes' quirky, blues-rooted playing might make this music palatable even to those jazz fans who hate Christmas music. The other half of the CD contains 8 previously unreleased performances of original tunes (mostly blues) by Mr. Hodes. Good stuff all around.
