Peter Friedman Posted October 10, 2019 Report Posted October 10, 2019 This CD title is quite misleading. The title suggests that Griff and Bags play together throughout the disc. In fact that is not the case at all. On the first 6 tracks neither Griffin or Bags appear. Milt Jackson does play on tracks 7-11 but without Griffin. Tracks tracks 12 -16 do have Johnny Griffin but no Bags. The first 6 tracks are just ok. The remaining tracks are better, but not outstanding. Quote

HutchFan Posted October 10, 2019 Report Posted October 10, 2019 (edited) I'm not a huge Eberhard Weber fan, but there is something about this particular record that keeps me coming back. ... And Charlie Mariano (!!), of course. and R.I.P. Larry Willis. Edited October 10, 2019 by HutchFan Quote
