I was led to pick this one up after hearing Spann on the Dizzy Mosaic during my current run through that treasure trove.  This has a lot going for it: A leader playing two very different instruments, the x factor of Watkins on French horn and a fantastic rhythm section.  Hayes and Heath are two of the greats.  I'm thankful to have seen them both on several occasions.

I love it.  It's one of my favorites.  

I think it's fascinating to hear how differently Clifford Jordan plays with Waldron compared with Cedar Walton, the pianist that I hear in my head when I think of Jordan.

And McBee is on fire. 

That's my take.

I was lucky enough to get this one quite a while back. I think this Japanese cd reissue was available for about five minutes.
