First "Duke Ellington's Far East Suite" this the cd from the Complete RCA Recordings box set. Love this music! Followed by The inimitable and indominatable Ms Betty Carter, "I'm Yours, You're Mine" Verve cd. That looks really interesting. Maybe I want it. Specially since I owned the album as vinyl and am now unsuccessfully looking for it as mp3. My hunch is it's too old to appear anywhere. I like a few others better since, but still have a sentimental attachment to this one. The set is a lot to digest, I'm savoring it slowly. I really enjoyed seeing him with Chick's Freedom Band years ago, yet only caught him again at last year's Detroit Jazz Festival. Maybe because he has appeared frequently at various festivals over the years, I just always assumed that I'd get to see him again. That attitude backfired on me before when I missed Mulgrew Miller.
