I'm not sure that I don't prefer this outtakes record to the actual Trumpet Summit album. Far less squealing competitiveness. 

I’m sure you saw that Acoustic Sounds is reissuing several Pablo records (at $40 per) and this is the first one.

I did see that. I didn't know it was the first and I certainly did not know it was going to be $40 a do, but the announcement was indeed what led to me listening to this one.

Pablo reissues are long overdue. There are only so many C league Strata East records that need reissuing.

Even in Japan there haven't been Pablo CD reissues for more than a decade .... an scheduled series (of 20 titles I believe) was called off without disclosed reason a couple of years ago ....

The second disc of Monk’s “Les Liasions Dangereuses 1960”–Wilen with Monk, the LP version–something I never expected to hear til this came out.
