jazzbo Posted yesterday at 08:42 PM Report Posted yesterday at 08:42 PM This album seems to be a nice followup to “Serenade to Sweden” . . . the mood seems right. It’s been 21 years now since its release. . . I think we can call it a “classic.” It seems to deserve such a designation. Marc Johnson “Shades of Jade” ECM cd Marc Johnson – double bass Joe Lovano – tenor saxophone (7 tracks) John Scofield – guitar (4 tracks) Eliane Elias – piano (8 tracks) Joey Baron – drums Alain Mallet – organ (2 tracks) Quote

jazzbo Posted 13 hours ago Report Posted 13 hours ago Duke Ellington “The Great Concerts London & New York 1963 - 1964” Nimbus 2 cd set, disc 1, London concert A little warmer this morning. Dry, cool air, eerily silent after a burst of blue jay braying. I think an owl or hawk were about. This was quite a band! I just love the Ellington outfit when they are “on” and this was one of those nights, in London. Great way to start the day. Quote
