Now playing T.J. Kirk - Talking Only Makes It Worse (Ropeadope). The band took it's name from Thelonious Monk (T), James Brown (J), Rahsaan Roland Kirk (Kirk). I have no idea where or how I got this music onto my PC. I don't have the CD and don't recall ever buying it. I may have been given it by my friend Bob, who is a huge jazz guitar fan and this has that in spades. Very funky stuff.

is this a late recording. He looks pretty old. When did he stop performing ?

I am listening to a cdr of two Clasic Records Tina Brooks releases: “True Blue” from the 200 Gram Mono LP, and “Back to the Tracks” from the 45 rpm issue. I forget who made this for me, but I’m very thankful! Excellent sound.

Earlier I listened to the latest installment of Artie Shaw interview program on All About Jazz https://www.allaboutjazz.com/the-mystery-of-artie-shaw-chapter-7-take-five-and-see-the-world

I'm listening to a 15-song playlist of the complete Gramercy 5 which I carved out of the Classic Artie Shaw Bluebird and Victor Sessions Mosaic set. NS04NDcxLmpwZWc.jpeg
