Richard Williams and Joe Newman?

A wild ass guess...

trumpeter at center and alto are the question marks. The others I have no idea about.

Earl Bostic?

I believe so (and Loren Schoenberg did also).

But my first instinct was on the trumpeter, in the profile shot.

Blue?

Certainly think it looks like him, and wiki says he played with Bostic after high school and before Silver so it fits 1953 time frame.  Which I may have neglected to mention.

May be an image of 5 people, record player, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet and text

I find it weird to see a rare old photo like this with all of those imperfections. Those things are fairly easy to fix these days, often through the use of tools that will do it almost automatic. I get that the original should stay original, but there's no need to keep it that way in the digital domain.

Looks like a great bebop gig, groovy joint I suppose, but to have to play so near to the Shithouse.....😜

I mean, you got to head on and blow, but if someone from the audience has done his fiziologic necessities and opens the door and it stinks ? Terrible thing to imagine.

IMO it's best to leave the originals alone. Just my take in this world of "what is real" I'd like to see what's real be really real.

The untreated original somehow catches the spirit more, like a time capsule, IMO.
