I started reading them when they were Radio Free Jazz. They had good writers, and were the home to the last outputs of Stanley Dance (which was a fascinating thing to watch). I read Jazz Times too for a good long bit, although I've not been interested for quite a while now. Still, quite a contribution. RIP.

I too began with Radio Free Jazz and then on to Jazz Times. Like Jim, I dropped off from reading it quite some time ago.
