Might work with the small Philly park, Harper's numbers could get very high there. The Andrew McCutchen signing doesn't make sense, saw him all last year with the Giant's, and he's way past his prime. Seems to be a great guy to have on a team though, always gave it all on the field, we'll see if he has anything left in the tank.

Considering the cost, his potential effect on the clubhouse, that his signing with either the White Sox or the Phillies has no direct impact on the regular season and the fact that Andujar's star is still rising, I'd prefer that the Yankees pass on Machado.

Seems the "Yankees corner" @ Organissimo is on the same page ;) ....

One of the broadcasters on WFAN in NY noted today two of the very good Yankees in the last 50 years arrived at the wrong time: Mel arrived too late (just as the Yankee dynasty was starting to crumble) and Don Mattingly arrived too early (just before the last Yankee dynasty started to jell).  So true.

His agent is contesting this, but there are reports circulating that the White Sox offer to Manny Machado is for seven years and $175 million.  That's a far cry from the ten years and $300 million it was thought Machado might command.  If this is true, it could open the door for several other teams although I still don't see New York as a player..
