Steve Lawrence, RIP

Steve Lawrence has died at 88.  RIP.

I liked Steve and Eydie whenever I saw them on television.  I think that many of their records were arranged by Don Costa, whom I was not a fan of.

My folks liked them and had an lp or two.  They were pretty good singers but to my teenage self they were the epitome of squareness.

I remember them fondly from the Sinatra Group but it wasn't actually Steve or Edie.

Seth McFarland has forever ruined Steve Lawrence for me.  Every time I hear Steve sing - which is not frequently, incidentally - I think it's Brian, the dog from "Family Guy."
