JSngry Posted June 19, 2024 Report Posted June 19, 2024 He was no Willie Mays, that's for sure. Quote
mjazzg Posted June 19, 2024 Report Posted June 19, 2024 Saw him way back when, don't remember a lot about it though Quote
clifford_thornton Posted June 19, 2024 Report Posted June 19, 2024 Saw him at a gig in the audience maybe 12 years ago, but never experienced his music live. Definitely an original. RIP. This one, to me, is superb and eclipses BUY and the No New York tracks: https://jameschancethecontortions.bandcamp.com/album/white-cannibal Quote
adh1907 Posted June 21, 2024 Report Posted June 21, 2024 Underrated. Got a lot of punks into jazz and funk in the 70s. Some crossover with Joseph Bowie and Defunkt (what a great live band!). Interesting that one of his early jazz bands was with Brian Lynch. Quote
