RIP Mike Wofford

Pianist Mike Wofford, the husband of flautist Holly Hofmann, as well as her musical partner, died on September 19 at the age of 87. I was fortunate to hear both of them playing together twice, co-leading a quartet and in the unique group Flutology at IAJE.

Yes, he did, I've bought quite a few albums with him in recent years, often because of him, and many were excellent... RIP

Sad news. I liked Mike's piano playing very much.

Not only do I have quite a few of his CD's, but saw him live a number of times in a variety of different  sized groups.

He always left a good impression when I heard him on a recording. There were quite a few pianists like him on the West Coast, but they all were good.
