JSngry Posted Monday at 06:02 PM Report Posted Monday at 06:02 PM That's one of those songs on which I would always switch the radio. Quote
HutchFan Posted Monday at 06:52 PM Report Posted Monday at 06:52 PM I read this thread title and I assumed that it was a commentary on the state of our world & country. Quote
Dub Modal Posted yesterday at 01:01 AM Report Posted yesterday at 01:01 AM I almost thought a new sludge band just dropped but there's no way Dan G is into that. Quote
Dan Gould Posted yesterday at 01:07 PM Author Report Posted yesterday at 01:07 PM I can only imagine what a "Sludge" band is. I do hope people clicked on the link, I am not a sailor or particularly interested in the subject but did find the article interesting and worth ten minutes. As for Lightfoot parodies, there is only this: Quote
Aggie87 Posted 15 hours ago Report Posted 15 hours ago I knew Gordon's song Carefree Highway for many years, but had no clue it was an actual road. When we moved to Arizona a couple of years ago, we ended up less than a mile or so from that road. Apparently Gordon was touring and was driving between Flagstaff and Phoenix and saw the exit for that road, and liked the name enough to write a song. Now every time we drive down that road, one of us has to sing the chorus. Quote

My wife and I used to watch Bar Rescue and sometime after we arrived in Plant City, there was a bar just to the west of us where a shooting took place. So every time I drive past that location (even now when the building is long gone, replaced by a quick lube company) I say in my best Jon Taffer voice, "Two people were shot to death in your bar ... and you're failing!"
